Clueless
My dream is to become one of the Asian basketball player in NBA because I want to change the way Taiwanese parents look at basketball. In Taiwan, parents always say playing basketball as a career is an unrealistic or impractical thought. Basketball in Taiwan is truly not as competitive as it's in other countries, but have you ever thought about why? From one generation to another, parents always preach their kids that becoming a professional player should not be your option, and at the same time, parents might unconsciously kill the kids' gift or potential. Parents always tell kids what to do and what not to do, so kids start becoming numb and don't know what's the next step to take because they always do what their parents told them to do. I love my parents and I really appreciate that they have spent so much time and so much effort taking care me, but I just hope my father can have faith in me like my mom always do. I guess that's enough for complaint, and no matter how much I talk about, action is the only thing that matters. I will prove that their assumption is wrong.

My Plan for the future
I am happy that I was born in Taiwan. As we all know, the basketball in Taiwan has not always been outstanding. By knowing this fact, most of the parents, especially father, think playing basketball can only be a habit not a career, and that's why basketball in Taiwan has been poorly developed. Most of the potential students stop trying mainly because their parents tell them to do so. The notion will then be inculcated from one generation to another, and that's when something called "stereotype" takes place. Before coming to PAS, I was never called a confident person... and I used to believe that the only to show my self-esteem is through the academic success, so I sacrificed the time I would normally spend with my family just to get as much study time as I can. Until one day, I joined the PAS basketball team, in which I realize it was through basketball, not academics, that I can finally find my self-esteem. In this world, people have their own talent at different areas, and the talent should not be limited, no matter it's acting, drawing or playing basketball..... It's either you don't know how much talent your children have or you have never engaged in those activities before. You never know, maybe one day, when you truly decide to let your children choose the career they want, your children might become the next super star or someone who can make the world better.
